Back in 2012, the New Yorker magazine’s Art Director began to hold a weekly contest on her blog which paralleled the real assignments that the magazine was working on for their covers. I learned a lot in what makes a good New Yorker cover from this weekly contest and was fortunate to make Runner-Up several times and Winner once.
